About

I originate from Pwllheli in North Wales and have been painting to some degree most of my life. My father was a signwriter and amateur artist so there was always brushes and paints lying about, so I learnt all the basics from him.

I have been retired for five years and enjoy the extra time I have painting. I have not had any formal art training and find most of what I paint challenging, “the frustration of trying to get it right”. Most of my works are animal paintings and I enjoy trying to capture the reality of the animal. I have grown into a style of my own and even though I admire the work of my friends I cannot change!

I have been a member of an art group for many years and through their encouragement I have definitely improved. I have exhibited at various venues throughout the Fylde area and also at The Mall Gallery in London and “The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art” on the Wirral and Castle Park Arts Center, Frodsham.
